Neighborhood Fire Hydrants
Earlier this summer, with funding from the City of Eugene Neighborhood Matching Grant and the support of the Eugene Fire Department, neighbors throughout the neighborhood participated in the South University Fire Hydrant Painting Project. There was a kickoff event on June 19th at Edison Elementary School where volunteers picked up their paint kits and were treated to a great visit by a fire truck and crew. Since then, nearly all the hydrants in the neighborhood have been painted. We have a lot of creative and talented neighbors! Volunteers consisted primarily of Edison school families, UO students, and long time residents. Take a walk around the neighborhood and see all their great artwork!
