George P. Hopkins House, (1925) 2028 Potter Street

This stucco, one and on-half story English Cottage/Norman Farmhouse style house, was built by Bert Reeves for George and Edith Hopkins.

Dr. Hopkins taught piano at the UO for many years and his wife was an artist and singer.

The house was commissioned by Albert R. Tiffany who lived across the street. Tiffany had the house built for two reasons: the design was not to block his view from his house, and to be attractive to his sight. Mr and Mrs Hopkins resided in this house until 1992.
